Shelly Poole

Born Michelle Lena Poole, 20 March 1972, in Barking, Essex, Shelly Poole is a songwriter and singer, She got together with her sister Karen to form the duo / band, Alisha’s Attic.
After Mercury Records decided not to take out their option on a fourth Alisha’s Attic album, Shelly (sometimes spelled as Shellie) started work on a solo career. Established as a songwriter in her own right (having written for Massive Attack, Janet Jackson, Jamelia, Sophie Ellis Bextor.) Shelly released her own solo album ‘Hard Time For A Dreamer’ in September 2005. With little fanfare, the album gently instilled itself as a favourite with music lovers and critics alike and hit the top 10 on iTunes. She also sang vocal on Michael Gray’s house tune called “Borderline”, in 2006, which made number 12 on the UK Singles Chart, number 2 on the UK Upfront Club Chart and number 3 on the ARIA (Australian) Club Chart among others
She married Ally McErlaine from the Scottish band Texas in October 2001.
