Peace be with you Jade Goody

Today is the sad day of of reality TV star Jade Goody’s funeral and procession.

She died on Sunday 22 March – Mother’s Day – after losing her battle with cervical cancer – aged just 27 years.  Her bravery and courage in dealing with her illness, and fight to protect her children and make money to look after them was to be admired – not to mention the differerence she has already made with young women taking care to have cervical smear tests and be aware of the dangers.  She has saved many lives already.

The funeral procession has already passed through the streets of her home borough, on the way to her burial, visiting places where she spent some of her life.    From Bermondsey in south London, it will travel to St John’s Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex for the ceremony.

Members of the public outside the church will be able to view the ceremony on huge screens and speakers.

It would be “a very Jade Goody event”.  Said her publicist Max Clifford  “The whole service is very much the way Jade wanted it”.
