Olly Murs through to final 4 of X Factor!

Olly Murs was fantastic this week – showing us two varied performances. Take That’s ballad‘ Love Aint here anymore ‘ was a stripped right back to the song alone, with no dancers – just Olly singing and he made a fabulous job of it.

For his second song, he performed ‘Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting’ as his Elton John choice and as Danni said, it was a ‘knockout’. The song suited him as he was able to sing and dance and all with sexy ladies dancing round him.

The comments were pretty good, but I am still disappointed with Simon Cowell (Olly’s mentor), as he seems to be giving some of the other contestants more positive comments than Olly.

Louis Walsh said: I loved you in round 1. It was an unusual song choice for you. I like your funny dancing and I like you, but there was something missing for me.

Dannii Minogue said: Move over, round one was OK, round 2 was an absolute knockout. I’m really happy that the grandpa suit’s gone. That was absolutely a smash.

Cheryl Cole’s comments: I don’t know how on earth you concentrated with all those sexy girls around you. But you did it and you did it really well.

Simon Cowell liked it: It was the Olly we really loved from the very beginning, back in the competition with a great song, great performance and you really added something tonight. You made it sound like the song was written for you. You gave it an extra 10 -15 %.

On the results show on Sunday (30th November 2009), we were all kept on the edge of our seats as Dermot made us wait a particularly long time to find out if it was Lloyd or Olly that was being sent home by the public (least votes) and it did seem a little unfair. The results are not read out in any particular order, but it made it seem like Olly was in the bottom two, when this may well have not been the case.

Oh yes, let me not forget the group song on Saturday (‘I don’t feel like dancing’ by the Scissor Sisters, which is one of my top 5 favourite songs!)  Wasn’t it good?  I thought it was fantastic for Olly, as he showed that he can hit the high notes that the song requires.  It is such a difficult song to pull off, and his part in it was superb!

So, Olly got through! There is one sad fact shadowing this achievement, and that is that Olly will not now be able to attend his twin brother (born 15 minutes after Olly) Ben’s Wedding next Saturday 5th December 2009. That is a shame, but Olly you have done so well to get through – Olly to win!!!!

I have also found out something more about our favourite Essex boy – he went to Australia last year for 3 months and whilst out there, he renewed his confidence, so that is where his extra confidence came from!  I know what he means, as I spent a few months in Oz a while ago (Cannot bring myself to say how many:-) ) and found the same – I came back with renewed confidence!  So, there is a trick for anyone who wants to ‘find themself’….
