This is my favourite restaurant, by far. OK I have only eaten in a few Michelin star restaurants, but many fine dining restaurants in my time, in the UK and abroad, and this beats all of them, especially in consistency. I have never been disappointed by a single thing, apart from not getting a Christmas cracker with my Christmas set menu J

We ate there last Thursday as a treat for my birthday (4th December) quite excited about what might be on the menu when we were greeted with a set menu too good to turn down. The Christmas menu had three choices of starter

and dessert and four choices of main. We had the cottage pie with garlic foam, which was nothing short of divine, the black feathered turkey with all the trimmings including toasted almond coated creamed potato and roast potato, and a dessert of Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. We also had the peanut parfait with spiced sour cherry soup and peanut crisp. Now this might all sound fairly standard, but all I can say is go and try it and there’s a good chance you will be hooked on this restaurant forever. At £29.95 per head including bread, mince pies and coffee it is fantastic value as well!

I do hope to return soon, especially as I have joined their members’ card now which will allow us a glass of champagne gratis on our next visit.

Just lovely! 🙂
