Aerial photos of the V-Festival, Chelmsford, Essex Sunday 17th August 2014

I was lucky enough to be up in the air near the V-Festival, Chelmsford, Essex, yesterday. I managed to get some great shots. It was so pretty with all the coloured tents, cars and masses of people in the late afternoon August sunshine.

I have, due to copyright reasons, reduced the size on these from their high resolution quality, but it will give you the gist…

To view the photos, click on them and then use the ‘back’ button on your browser to get you back to this page…

If you wish to purchase any of these photos, or other aerial or non-aerial photos on my site, just ask – email: info@notjustanessexgirl.com Continue reading Aerial photos of the V-Festival, Chelmsford, Essex Sunday 17th August 2014

Petition – please sign as Music Magpie should pay customers for clothes sent to them; not reject them for stains, excessive wear/being personalised when it’s not true!

Further to my recent post about Music Magpie and the service I recieved CLICK HERE TO READ IT, I have conducted on-line research and found that the same things are happening to many other people, so it seems. I sent them perfect clothing and they rejected half of them and refused to pay me for them or answer four emails that I sent them asking what was going on.

It appears to me that it is stealing and so I have set up a petition on Care.org to make Music Magpie change and to pay customers for clothes that they send to them in perfect order, not make excuses to not pay.

So, here’s the PETITION – CLICK HERE TO OPEN IT IN A NEW WINDOW AND PLEASE SIGN IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE OF THIS TERRIBLE SERVICE

I hope this will help to stop other people getting ripped off by them.

I will send the petition, when ready, to a number of people who can help to make a change happen. I also hope to see them on Rip Off Britain or another TV show that shows up this kind of rip off. Continue reading Petition – please sign as Music Magpie should pay customers for clothes sent to them; not reject them for stains, excessive wear/being personalised when it’s not true!

BEWARE! I used ‘Music Magpie’ to earn money for my clothes and they stole half of them!

I want to share my awful experience with Music Magpie and wish to warm anyone thinking of using them of how they stole my clothes…

I sent a box of labelled clothes to them, realised there were issues and began sending them my complaint…

“I wish to cancel my order and want my items returned immediately! I will pay for them to be returned.

I am disgusted with this service.

I waited in all day last Tuesday until 5.15pm when the courier came, which was ‘Parcel Force’, NOT a named and badged individual from Music Magpie.

I then wait for my funds. Then Friday I get an email saying that you haven’t even got the items yet which was total lies…

Then, I see you have decided that half my clothes are not being paid for, due to rips and stains!!! Those clothes are in perfect order, are good labels and I took a lot of time to check them as I am not a time waster and do not own any stained, or ripped clothing.

I was advised I would receive over £33 for my items and now am being told you will only pay £18 for them.”

***

I put in four complaints and received no replies at all. Eventually, a week after the last complaint, I received one to say:

‘Unfortunately once items are with us they cannot be returned. Our terms and conditions clearly state that any items that do not meet our quality standards wont be returned and we will not offer payment on them. I would now advise you to go ahead and verify your bank details so that we can authorise the payment.’

I know they don’t usually return items, but they have blatently, in my eyes, stolen my clothes and I would never ever use them again. I will also advise anyone I know to avoid them, if that is the kind of ‘customer service’ they provide, or lack of. They prey on the needy; the types who need quick money for stuff :-(

No wonder they have enough money to fund TV adverts – it comes from us, their ripped off customers! I am not the only one – when I googled it, there are many victims! Continue reading BEWARE! I used ‘Music Magpie’ to earn money for my clothes and they stole half of them!

I am featuring on TV as restaurant reviewer of The Sandbar and Seafood Company in the Ruth Watson Means Business series, episode one on Monday 2nd December 2013 on Channel 4 at 10am!

In the Spring of this year, I was filmed for a new Ruth Watson show. Essentially it’s about how on-line reviews affect businesses and hones in on negative reviews, hand picked by the TV company for Ruth to investigate. I have reviewed over 100 restaurants in Essex and had reviewed the Sandbar and Seafood Company in Leigh on sea, Essex (CLICK HERE TO SEE MY REVIEW although I have been there since then!) which was picked up by RDF Television West who produced the series.

I was asked to come onto the show to talk about my review and take part in some discussions with Ruth and two other reviewers. It was a lot of fun, and for me, a big thing as I had managed to get on the news once and then stood there speechless, so my debut on TV was not very good, albeit Continue reading I am featuring on TV as restaurant reviewer of The Sandbar and Seafood Company in the Ruth Watson Means Business series, episode one on Monday 2nd December 2013 on Channel 4 at 10am!

My aerial photograph of Hadleigh Castle, Essex, is on the front cover of Essex Life Magazine this month – September issue

Hadleigh Castle in September 2013 issue of Essex Life magazine

Hadleigh Castle in September 2013 issue of Essex Life magazine

This aerial photograph of Hadleigh Castle in Essex is one of my top ten favourite aerial photos I have taken thus far.

Although there are only ruins left, the hilltop area has some great views over the Estuary to Leigh and sea and much more.  It’s a great area for a walk or a picnic or just to play games with the family.

I have been going up to Hadleigh Castle since I was a child and my father used to play up there as a boy as well, so the area has served our family well for fresh air, relaxing or playtime.

Essex definitely has beautiful countryside, and this photo proves it – you can even see people walking or sitting round the castle from the air which are captured in this photo.

So, I am delighted that this photograph has made it onto the front cover of Essex Life magazine this issue (September 2013) and I hope you will enjoy taking in the view that I captured that day.

I have many more aerial photos from all around Essex (all for sale as Continue reading My aerial photograph of Hadleigh Castle, Essex, is on the front cover of Essex Life Magazine this month – September issue

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, Brentwood, Essex supported by Leona Lewis 30th Anniversary fun day 21st July 2013

July 2013 Leona Lewis 30th Anniversary Hopefield Essex s

July 2013 Leona Lewis Hopefield 30th Anniversary Essex s

On 21st July 2013 I enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Brentwood, Essex, which has been going for 30 years now. I had never even heard of it before, but had seen adverts for the fun day and was so impressed with how they help neglected and rescued animals.

They have a beautiful, large piece of countryside right next to the centre of Brentwood, so that is the first surprise, but they house so many animals it’s just wonderful – ponies, donkeys and horses, cats, rabbits and ferrets, chickens, goats, sheep and cows and even reptiles and snakes. Each animal has it’s own story and they have written a short piece about each and every creature there so that you can understand why they have saved them from adverse conditions and their current state.

I was in awe of the commitment shown at Hopefield by the staff and volunteers (around 40 at the moment) and so pleased to see a big crowd that day to support them. There was live entertainment, drinks/snacks, games and stalls and even some celebrities. Leona Lewis particularly supports Hopefield so she was helping to run the ‘animal adoption’ tent, plus Jeff Brazier, Miss Essex and TOWIE stars Lauren Pope and Sam Faiers. Carpenters Pub and restaurant, Rawreth, Rayleigh, Essex Restaurant review

Carpenters pub and restaurant Rawreth essex June 2013

Carpenters pub and restaurant Rawreth essex June 2013

I had fancied going here for some time, so had certain expectations for the food at least. Unfortunately, we were let down.

It all started well, as we were given a nice table for four, which we like as we appreciate the space, and we hadn’t booked beforehand. All friendly. The starters also had us excited about our main courses, with beautifully tender and sweet calamari and juicy prawns (although the prawns speak for themselves if they are good prawns sourced from the right places). However, our mains were not anywhere near the same standard.

I had the posh chicken and chips, which just consisted of chicken, chips, stuffing and gravy; the stuffing and gravy making them ‘posh’ apparently. The chips were nicely cooked, but were not made of good potatoes as they hardly tasted of anything, and the chicken was so overcooked, it Continue reading Carpenters Pub and restaurant, Rawreth, Rayleigh, Essex Restaurant review
